Cryptosporidium parvum in Kinyoun’s stain of diarrhoeal stool

History

A 3 years old patient with history of chronic diarrhea. A clinician requested for observation of coccidian parasites in stool specimen.

Procedure

A formal ether concentration technique followed. From the sediment part , smear prepared for Modified Kinyoun’s stain. After performing   modified Kinyoun’s stain, we have this type structure as shown above picture.

partially beaten apple like acid fast structure i.e. brand logo of apple company products
